NAUGATUCK - Finding a niche on the World Wide Web can be as tricky as finding one in the business world. Naugatuck native Eric Mudry has started a company to make it easier for Greater Waterbury businesses to do both.
Mudry, along with Wallingford resident Steve Rinaldi, has formed Innovative Internet Marketing Solutions, which specializes in creating home pages on the Web to showcase lawyers, law firms and legal services.
Mudry, 24, who graduated from Naugatuck High School in 1989, took a history degree from Hartford's Trinity College and went to work at a New Haven law firm as a legal assistant.
He met Rinaldi, a recent Dartmouth College graduate, on the job. They started moonlighting for a computer company. While scanning the internet, they came across Insurance On-line, which marketed insurance companies.
"Being in the legal profession, I said 'Why can't we put this together and offer the same type of service for lawyers?'" Mudry said.
Six months ago, Law Forum was born. It can also be found via a Web search engine, which is a card catalog for the Web. Service providers such as America Online, Prodigy and CompuServe can also get you there, Mudry said.
Mudry's service is designed to guide businesses into the largely untapped world of cyberspace marketing. "It's just starting to break," Mudry said of widespread use of the Internet for finding business services. "It's growing exponentially." For information, call (203) 265-2424.
